Our History
Springhill Missionary Baptist Church membership voted in October 2004, to pray for and work towards, the beginning of a Christian school. Then in May, 2007, the church stepped out on faith and began preparation for opening the doors of the School of Hope. The first bell rang on September 4, 2007. Our first year, we had the privilege of schooling seven children, 2nd through 8th grades. God blessed each year with continued growth of enrollment. By 2010, we had an enrollment of 31 students and were running out of room in our small learning center. In January of 2011, the church voted to begin construction on a new school building. The ground breaking ceremony was held on July 9, 2011. The new school building will allow us to enroll 50+ students, as well as provide us with the space to do more projects, music practice, and one-on-one instruction. We are looking forward to growing our enrollment as the Lord leads, and working with families to provide their children an education with high Biblical and academic standards.
Our Purpose
The purpose of Springhill's School of Hope is to provide a quality, individualized education for the children we serve. We believe that the student must be at a level where he can perform and have reasonable goals to work toward. We use a variety of curricula working toward a solid, mastery-based, back-to-basics education, individualized to meet a student's specific learning needs and capabilities. Our desire is to provide a Christ centered atmosphere and a positive learning environment in the Learning Center. We will encourage growth in Christian character and work to help the student accept his or her responsibility in living a Christian Life through daily Bible teaching, Scripture memorization, instruction in wisdom, and prayer. We encourage positive Christian relationships between parents, students, and staff.
